Overview: TV

Dave Kendall has written, produced, story-edited and/or hosted hundreds of TV shows for major networks in the United States, Britain and Asia.

After relocating from his native England to New York City, he was hired by MTV to create the acclaimed music show “120 Minutes,” and spent seven years as an MTV writer, producer, presenter and news reporter. He went on to host and co-produce the nationally syndicated television talk show, “Music Scoupe” for Fox; he also hosted the internationally simulcast concert “Soccer Rocks The Globe” with co-host Angie Everhart, and the “Woodstock ’94” pay-per-view.

In 1995, Kendall shifted his focus to the Internet. He created the first music site to stream video, alterworld.com, for On Ramp/THINK New Ideas, Inc.

In January 2000, Kendall joined Soundbreak.com as Director of Content, and was soon promoted to Executive Director of Content Development, supervising a 20-person team of writers, producers, engineers and video editors. His duties at Soundbreak included formulating and developing “Sweetspot” video interviews and an interactive music news show.

In 2002, he returned to the TV world, writing, producing and story-editing shows such as “Wired For Sex” for TechTV/G4, “Amazing Vacation Homes” for Travel Channel, “Ultimate Zoo” for Animal Planet and “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” for TLC. After moving to Bangkok, he began presenting and producing “Destination Thailand” for Capital TV, a travel show that airs in hotels and on cable and satellite networks in South-East Asia. He also produced advertorial content and lifestyle and technology video stories, as well as creating and hosting an English-teaching show called “Target English” for the Bangkok Post.

After moving to Shanghai for several years, Kendall began working as a camera operator for CT, working on high-profile events such as the Beijing Auto Show, the Shanghai Auto Show and the launch of Disneyworld in Shanghai.

Since early 2017, he has worked at the Bangkok Post, where he has created video content including a talk show, a newscast and scores of video stories.
