Beginning in 2004, Kendall worked for Pasadena-based Mike Mathis Productions, where he wrote and story edited a series for Discovery network Animal Planet. "Ultimate Zoo" is a fast-paced, documentary-style look at the world's most innovative and intense exhibits, from
a vast, open-air aquarium where giant manatees can recover from injuries sustained by watercraft to a high-tech research facility that produced the first captive birth of an endangered Sumatran rhino in 112 years.
2004 also saw Kendall write and story edit another show for the Discovery family: "Amazing Vacation Homes," cablecast worldwide on The Travel Channel. This refreshing break from the current slew of home makeover shows examines fantastic holiday hideaways ranging from the house used as the set on Woody Allen's “Sleeper,” complete with the working Orgasmatron, to “La Villa Vista Magica,” an exquisite dream home overlooking Mexico's most beautiful coastline.
In 2002-3, Kendall worked for World of Wonder Productions, where he wrote, produced and field directed "Wired For Sex" for TechTV, the 75 million home cable network since acquired by G4. The 13-episode documentary series explores how technology affects our sexuality, from online dating and virtual reality cybersex to contraception, cosmetic surgery and genetic engineering.

Kendall's first foray into television was back in 1986, when MTV hired him to create "120 Minutes." The weekly show became the nation's premier showcase for the emerging genre of alternative music, and received critical acclaim for "breaking" such artists as Depeche Mode, Sinead O'Connor, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana.
Although
Kendall is best known to the public for his on-camera work as host of "120 Minutes" and "Postmodern MTV,"
and as an "MTV
News" reporter, 99% of his work at MTV was behind the scenes.
As a Staff Producer, his duties included writing VJ scripts for shows
such as "Top 20 Video Countdown" and "Club MTV," and
producing specials like the pre-game shows for the Video Music Awards.
Kendall left MTV at the end of 1992 to write, co-produce and host the
nationally syndicated television show "Music
Scoupe."
The mainstream music/talk show was cleared in 85% of US markets and aired
primarily on Fox affiliates.
Kendall has
also hosted several TV specials. "Woodstock
'94," a 3-day marathon aired in 26 countries, was the highest-grossing
pay-per-view to
date. "Soccer
Rocks The Globe," a World Cup concert featuring The Scorpions,
Yes, and Gary Glitter and co-hosted by Angie Everhart, was internationally
simulcast to a reach of over one billion.
In the Internet/TV
convergence space, Kendall was a pioneer of streaming video. His 1995
music site "alterworld.com" featured "Alternative
World," the first music TV show to be streamed over the Internet.
